Ashleigh was not Broken!
A new queen for the ACS who captured the judges with a strong message ‘We may be brused but won’t be broken’ relating to the political issues back home in Zimbabwe where she was born. 

Ashleigh Cloete, 21 year-old student at the Southampton Solent University, turned the title upside down when she won Miss ACS 2009 contest in Louisiana, Southampton.   Born in Zimbabwe the new Miss ACS is the second winner of the title taking over from Tanaka Nyawiri who is also of the same origin/nationality.  Miss Cloete was presented by her predecessor Tanaka Nyawiri with tiara & sash and an ultimate goodie bag sponsored by Defjam UK.
Second-placed went to Nigeria - Stephanie Faderin, 19 year old attending King’s College in London and third place went to the bubbly Susan Araromi also from Nigeria currently at the University of Southampton.  The other 3 in the top 6 included Samantha Kangal-Nurse awarded Miss Creativity 2009 (Winchester University, Trinidad & Guyana), Savaughan Fairman-Campbell (Chichester University, Jamaica) & Sharma Johnson-Attille (Winchester University & St Lucia).

  The night was full of entertainment from students (J.P.S, Isaac and Young Don), a mini fashion show from an upcoming designer Brandy (Frockstar designs) and the audience was kept busy by the special guest host Daddy Ernie (Choice FM) accompanied by Jacqueline Matovu.  The judging panel Tanka Nyawiri (Miss ACS 2008 & Miss Africa Queen 2008), Lionel & James Brown of (DefJam UK), Yusuf B of (5ft Heroes south coast Dj) and Affri of the famously known Afro baber shop in Southampton.
