Miss ACS was founded in 2004 by Jacqueline Matovu (J.M Promotions) and has been running since 2005. This is a beauty pageant competition for university students who are of an Afro-Caribbean origin in the UK. Miss ACS is run to help students build their profiles, give back to their communities, gain confidence & experience and of course to have fun.
The main objective is to raise money for different charities around Africa for disadvantaged children who have been affected by hard ways of living. Another objective of this event is to raise awareness to the young people of our cultural back ground not just by beauty but also being able to be a good ambassador for the community. To date Miss ACS has raised over £5000 for the targeted charities and proud to announce that Rhema Orphange's building is now completed and in use as of July/2007. J.M Promotions will be launching Miss ACS UK in 2009 targeting all universities in the UK.
